Privacy policy
What this website collects, and what it does not
Machinery Field Journal is a reading site. It does not require accounts, it does not set tracking cookies of its own, and it does not sell data. This page describes what happens technically when you visit.
Effective October 22, 2026. This policy describes the website at machineryfieldjournal.com, published by Machinery Field Journal. If the way the site works changes, this page will change with it and the effective date will be updated.
Information collected automatically
When you load a page, the hosting provider’s servers receive the request and record standard server log information: your IP address, the page requested, the time, the referring page if your browser sends one, and your browser’s user-agent string. The site is hosted on Vercel’s infrastructure, and Vercel processes this information to deliver the pages and protect the service. Vercel’s own privacy policy governs its processing. We use this information, in aggregate, only to understand that the site is working.
Cookies and tracking
The site does not set its own cookies and does not include third-party advertising or social media tracking scripts. If analytics are enabled in future, they will be privacy-preserving, this page will describe them, and no personal profile will be built from them. Your browser may store ordinary cached copies of pages, fonts and images to make the site faster; that storage is under your control.
Fonts and images
Typefaces are served from the same host as the pages rather than from a third-party font service, so no font request reaches another company. Photographs are served through the host’s image service. Links to Wikimedia Commons and licence pages under each image take you to those organisations’ sites, which have their own policies.
External links
Articles link to dealers, review platforms, manufacturers, auction houses and government registries so that readers can check sources. Once you follow a link, the destination’s privacy policy applies. We do not control those sites and we do not receive information from them about your visit.
Information you send us
If you contact us by email, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it, including to document a correction. We do not add correspondents to mailing lists and we do not share their details, except where the law requires it.
Children
The site is written for working adults and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information that an organisation holds about you. Because this site holds no account data and we keep only correspondence you have sent us, a request to see or delete that correspondence can be made through the contact page and will be honoured.
Changes to this policy
We will post changes on this page with a new effective date. Significant changes, such as adding analytics, will also be noted on the about page.
